From the first day the child enters the classroom, language lessons must be given. Teaching the children the language for the objects in their environment will add to their vocabulary and help orient them in their new environment. The teacher should begin with broad categories. Later, they can move on to sub-classifications. It is also important to present the child with words that they already had some experience with or knowledge of to give the child a foundation in lanaguage. The lessons should always include movement and when done formally, should be done in a Three Period Lesson style.
