This activity teaches the child the names of the numbers 11-19.

Presentation

  1. After teaching up to 10 let the child take one more item which is similar to those tens. Then, in place of 0 let them put 1. It becomes 11.
  2. If ones child understands it, do twelve by taking two items in one set and 10 items another set. Start counting second set up to 10.
  3. Then in place of zero have the child put the number 2. It becomes 12.
  4. Go on with 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19.
